Tesla UAE Launch

Tesla, the name synonymous with electric cars and autonomous transport, is set to enter UAE just next week. While you can see a few Tesla cars in the UAE, there is no official Tesla showroom, but that’s set to change on the 13th of February.

Invites for the launch of Tesla’s UAE expansion at the Armani Hotel in the Burj Khalifa have been sent out. Furthermore, it is expected that Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk will make an appearance as he will already be in town for the World Government Summit. It will be the first time Elon Musk will be attending and speaking at the event.

Despite the UAE’s progress towards renewable energy, the viability of electric cars is still in question. Fuel prices are low across the region and the overheating of batteries during the summer period is another concern. Furthermore, there is a distinct lack of charging stations for prospective Tesla owners to top up their cars.

However, it is most likely that Tesla will set up charging points across the country, as they have done in Singapore and the government of Dubai has already installed a 100 charging stations since 2015 as part of a green charger initiative.

Currently, the Tesla website is listing for three jobs: service advisor, service manager and service technician to help manage the soon-to-be service centre.

This isn’t the only Tesla news that has surfaced recently; Elon Musk has stated that the company is making progress with a new electric semi-truck though he went on to mention that the still in development Model 3 is the primary focus of the company.

Yes, but Model 3 is the overwhelming priority
