After battling news media and people who shared personal hacked info on the web, Sony is now going after twitter itself.

Sony’s legal department has sent a letter to twitter threatening them with legal action if the company doesn’t take action and suspend accounts sharing leaked Sony info on its platform. The letter comes after tweets form people like Val Broeksmit, a musician, posted screenshots of hacked Sony emails on Twitter.

According to emails obtained by Motherboard, the letter – addressed to Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s general counsel states:

SPE (Sony Pictures Entertainment) does not consent to Twitter’s or any Twitter account holder’s possession, review, copying, dissemination, publication, uploading, downloading, or making any use of the Stolen Information, and to request your cooperation in suspending the Account Holder’s Twitter account and the account of any other user seeking to disseminate the Stolen Information via Twitter.

Twitter confirmed the letter but did not comment on the matter.

Sony’s hackers (The Guardians of Peace), distributed stolen data on the net for public access, it all began on Nov. 24th.
