Ford Motor Company has announced that their Sync 3 infotainment system will feature complete support for Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto for all its 2017 car models.
Drivers will simply have to plug in an iPhone or Android device via the USB port in the system and the phone’s interface will show up on the car’s display. iPhone Users can use Siri to operate apps such as Music and make calls, while Android users will be able to take advantage of apps such as Google Maps and Google Play Music while driving.
Ford also says that anyone with a 2016 car will also be upgraded to the new Sync 3, later this year, starting with the US market. SYNC technology would expand globally, reaching more than 20 million of its customers by 2020.
