Xiaomi has expanded its home appliance lineup in China with the launch of the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Dual-Core Formaldehyde Removal, a high-capacity air purifier designed for homes dealing with indoor pollutants commonly found in new or recently renovated spaces. The device is now available for pre-sale on Xiaomi Youpin at 2,599 yuan (around $365).

Unlike the global Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, which features a single filter system and a lower Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 218 m³/h, the Dual-Core model is built for more demanding environments. It employs a dual-filter, dual-fan design capable of achieving a formaldehyde CADR of 700 m³/h and a particle CADR of 949 m³/h, making it suitable for cleaning rooms between 56 and 96 square meters.

At the heart of the purifier is a seven-layer filtration system designed to target fine particles, bacteria, and harmful gases. The setup includes an initial dust screen, antibacterial coating, formaldehyde-specific layer, nano-scale filter, activated carbon module, a formaldehyde decomposition layer, and an ultraviolet sterilization unit. According to Xiaomi, the purifier can remove up to 99% of formaldehyde and 99.99% of H1N1 viruses within an hour, while reducing allergens such as pollen and dust mites by more than 98%.

The Mijia Air Purifier 6 Dual-Core uses six real-time sensors to track PM1, PM2.5, dust concentration, formaldehyde, temperature, and humidity. These readings are displayed on a front-mounted LCD panel that provides visual graphs of air quality changes. The system integrates with Xiaomi’s HyperOS platform and the Mijia app, enabling remote control, automation, and real-time data viewing. It also supports Xiao Ai voice control for hands-free operation.

Other design features include a slim vertical profile with omnidirectional wheels for easy placement, magnetic doors for quick filter replacement, and a quiet sleep mode that operates at just 31.6 dB(A). The filter cartridges are rated for 12 months of use and cost 299 yuan (about $42) per set.

With this release, Xiaomi is positioning the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Dual-Core as a more specialized solution for homes that need advanced formaldehyde removal and consistent air monitoring — a step up from its standard air purification lineup.
