Gemini now taps into knowledge from academic textbooks with OpenStax, an educational initiative from Rice University.Students struggling with a new concept can now directly ask Gemini questions like, “Explain the concept of supply and demand.” In response, they’ll receive a clear explanation, complete with links to relevant textbook sections.
2. Interactive Quizzes
To aid in knowledge retention, Gemini introduces interactive quizzes. It guides students through questions one by one,offering feedback and hints if they encounter difficulties. Whether it’s history, biology, or pop culture, Gemini can create engaging quizzes to test knowledge and build confidence.
3. Document Upload for Exam Prep
Gemini Advanced users can now upload up to 10 documents, such as syllabi or notes. Gemini can then explain the content or even generate custom study guides. This feature, enabled by Gemini’s extensive context window, allows it to process large amounts of information, facilitating a deeper understanding of course materials.
4. Personalized Study Plans with the Learning Coach Gem
Gemini Advanced subscribers gain access to Gems, custom AI experts for various topics. The Learning Coach Gem helps students create personalized study plans, complete with progress checks. For instance, a student can ask the Learning Coach to help them review cells, genetics, and ecosystems for a bio midterm. The Gem will then generate a tailored plan covering key subtopics and essential concepts.
5. Deeper Understanding Through Multimedia
Gemini enhances understanding by providing multimedia resources. Students can request videos explaining complex topics or ask for real-life examples related to what they’re learning. This feature aims to make abstract concepts more concrete and relatable.
