OPPO has launched the Reno16 Series across the GCC, bringing the Reno16, Reno16 Pro and Reno16 F to the UAE market with a focus on distinctive rear finishes and expanded camera software. The standout visual element is the 3D Pop Planet Design, available on the Pop White versions, which uses arrays of micro-lenses to create a shifting, nebula-like depth effect that appears to float above the surface. OPPO positions this as an industry first for a commercially available smartphone, though similar holographic and layered optical treatments have appeared on limited editions from other makers in recent years. The rest of the lineup relies on a one-piece cold-sculpted glass back that blends into the camera housing, reducing seams and the usual dust traps around the module.

Screen sizes stay compact on the Reno16 and Pro at 6.32 inches, while the F stretches to 6.57 inches. An aerospace-grade aluminium frame appears on the higher models, offering a cooler grip than the plastic alternatives common at this price. On the imaging side the series sticks to a familiar triple rear setup: a stabilised main sensor, a roughly 3.5x telephoto portrait lens and an ultra-wide. The Pro steps up to a 200-megapixel main camera for heavier cropping, while the front camera across the range is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit with a 100-degree field of view aimed at group shots. New software tools include Pop Cam, which applies one-tap vintage filters such as digicam or light-leak looks, and an AI-driven Create hub that lets users build layered collages, extract moving subjects as stickers and push subjects outside the frame. Video gains auto-straightening in 4K and improved dual-view switching between lenses.
ColorOS 16 adds an AI Snap Key that dumps on-screen content into a personal Mind Space hub, where a bill manager can sort receipts and an AI pilot can route queries across different models. Menu translation attempts to go beyond text by generating visual dish explanations, a useful if still imperfect aid for travellers. Battery capacities sit at 6,700 mAh or higher, with the F reaching a claimed 7,000 mAh, paired with 80 W wired charging. Chipsets split between a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 on the Pro and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 on the standard model, both supported by IP68/69/69K ratings and wet- or glove-touch display modes. Network stability receives the latest AI LinkBoost treatment for crowded environments.
Alongside the phones OPPO introduces Bubble, a 35-gram magnetic AMOLED accessory that doubles as a rear-camera preview screen and remote shutter up to ten metres away. It can also serve as a customisable fashion item. In the UAE the Pro opens at AED 3,299, the Reno16 at AED 2,499 and the F from AED 1,799, with pre-order bundles that include cases, earphones and extended warranties. A short trade-in window offers an extra AED 200 top-up. The package is comprehensive for the mid-range, yet the real differentiator remains the optical rear effect and the growing stack of AI editing tools rather than any fundamental leap in core hardware.
