Nothing introduces Phone (3a) Lite, a refined design at a lower price

Nothing has introduced the Phone (3a) Lite, a more affordable entry in its smartphone lineup that aims to bring the company’s signature design and software experience to a wider audience. The device offers a familiar transparent aesthetic, a capable camera setup, and modern hardware tuned for everyday performance — positioned as a more accessible version of the Nothing Phone (3).

The design continues Nothing’s recognizable visual language but with a more subdued presentation. The glass body, available in white or black, maintains the brand’s minimalist approach while incorporating IP54-rated dust and water resistance for everyday durability. An internal aluminum frame reinforces the battery compartment, a detail intended to improve structural strength and longevity.

On the back, the Phone (3a) Lite features a triple-camera system led by a 50 MP main sensor with a 1/1.57-inch Samsung sensor that captures more light than many midrange competitors. The camera is supported by Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4.0, a processing pipeline also found in the flagship model. Features include Ultra XDR imaging, Portrait and Night Modes, Macro focus, and a 16 MP front camera for video calls and selfies. Video recording supports 4K at 30 fps and 1080p slow motion at 120 fps.

A revised Glyph Light system replaces the full Glyph Interface, offering simplified visual notifications. Users can customize light sequences for calls or alerts, use Flip to Glyph for silent mode, and access small conveniences like camera countdown signals — retaining the brand’s distinctive visual identity without overcomplicating it.

The phone runs on Nothing OS 3.5, built on Android 15, which maintains the brand’s emphasis on clean design and practical customisation. The system includes features such as Smart Drawer for app organization, Private Space for secure storage, and App Locker for individual privacy. Nothing promises three years of major Android updates and six years of security patches, with Nothing OS 4.0 expected in early 2026.

The 6.77-inch flexible AMOLED display supports FHD+ resolution, a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, and up to 3000 nits of peak brightness for HDR content. It also features 10-bit color and high-frequency dimming to reduce eye strain.

Under the hood, the Phone (3a) Lite uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Pro processor, paired with 8 GB of RAM (plus up to 8 GB of virtual memory) and expandable storage up to 2 TB. Connectivity options include dual 5G, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3.

Battery life is rated at roughly two days per charge thanks to a 5000 mAh cell, with 33 W fast charging and 5 W reverse wired charging for small devices.

The Phone (3a) Lite will be available from October 29 via Nothing’s official website.
