The design follows a symmetrical shape measuring 123.7 by 63 by 41 millimeters, aimed at users who prefer a balanced form that works for either hand. Inside sits a Nordic nRF54LM20A controller paired with a PixArt PAW3955 optical sensor, a combination that places the mouse in the same performance bracket as many current wireless gaming models.
The most distinctive element is the pair of MagOptic switches on the primary buttons. These allow switching between optical and magnetic sensing modes, combining electromagnetic adjustment of actuation with a physical click that standard magnetic switches sometimes lack. Keychron rates them for 100 million presses, a figure that matches durability claims on several higher-end mice already on the market. Whether the hybrid approach delivers consistent long-term performance remains to be tested outside controlled conditions, but it reflects the broader industry shift toward more tunable input mechanisms.
Battery options split the lineup into two versions. The fixed-battery model weighs 42 grams and uses a 350mAh cell. The swappable version starts at 46 grams and can accept additional weights that bring the total to 52 or 62 grams for those who want more mass. Claimed runtime reaches 340 hours over Bluetooth or roughly 35 hours on the 2.4GHz connection at an 8kHz polling rate. The shell uses a mix of ABS and polycarbonate with a nano-coating intended to reduce slip and surface wear. Color choices include black, white, and several matte translucent finishes, though the fixed-battery version is limited to black.
Pricing during the crowdfunding period starts at about 11,968 yen for the lighter fixed model and 14,344 yen for the modular one. That puts the mouse in a competitive mid-range slot rather than the premium tier occupied by some established gaming brands. Keychron has been steadily moving beyond its mechanical keyboard roots into mice and other input devices that use magnetic or Hall-effect sensing, following earlier releases such as the K2 HE. The G6 HE continues that pattern without introducing fundamentally new technology.
