iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 address security vulnerabilities

Apple has released iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 to address actively exploited security vulnerabilities. These updates are crucial for protecting devices from potential attacks and should be installed as soon as possible.

The updates fix vulnerabilities in WebKit, the engine that powers Safari and other browsers, and JavaScriptCore, the framework that runs JavaScript code. These vulnerabilities could allow malicious web content to execute arbitrary code or enable cross-site scripting attacks.

Apple has confirmed that these vulnerabilities may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Macs, highlighting the urgency of installing the updates. While Apple silicon Macs are not affected, users are still encouraged to update their iPhones and iPads.

The updates are available through the Software Update section in the Settings app on iPhones and iPads, and the System Settings app on Macs. Older iPhones and iPads can also be updated to iOS and iPadOS 17.7.2 for the same security protections. Vision Pro users can update to visionOS 2.1.1.

Apple is also currently testing iOS 18.2, which will bring new features to Apple Intelligence, including AI image and emoji creation, ChatGPT integration, and more.
