Qualcomm is democratizing AI-powered computing with its latest release, the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core SoC. Unveiled just before IFA 2024, this new chip is designed to bring the Copilot+ PC experience to a wider market, offering a compelling blend of performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities at a more accessible price point.

Powered by an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, the Snapdragon X Plus boasts a significant 61% boost in CPU performance compared to its predecessors. This translates to snappier responsiveness and smoother multitasking, even on demanding tasks. The integrated GPU supports up to three external monitors, promising exceptional graphics and immersive visual experiences. Moreover, the on-chip Hexagon NPU, capable of handling 45 TOPS, opens doors for a new generation of AI-driven applications on laptops.

The real game-changer is the price. With PCs equipped with the Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core starting at USD 799,Qualcomm is making AI-enhanced computing more attainable for a broader range of users. This strategic move reinforces Qualcomm’s commitment to driving innovation in the PC market and empowering both consumers and enterprises with cutting-edge AI experiences.

Qualcomm’s President and CEO, Cristiano Amon, highlighted the company’s dedication to spearheading the next generation of personal computing with its groundbreaking NPU technology. He emphasized the significance of the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core in extending these transformative AI experiences and the platform’s superior performance and battery life to even more users.

With the new Snapdragon X Plus 8-core, Qualcomm is redefining the landscape of affordable AI PCs. By combining power, efficiency, and accessibility, this latest addition to the Snapdragon X Series portfolio promises to revolutionize how we interact with and utilize laptops in the AI era.
