Honor confirms Magic V Flip 2 with fashion-forward design, launching this month

Honor has officially confirmed its next-generation compact foldable, the Magic V Flip 2, and released its first teaser. While the company has yet to announce a specific launch date, the timing suggests a debut before the end of August.

As with the first-generation model, Honor is once again collaborating with fashion designer Professor Jimmy Choo. The teaser image hints at a crystal-studded back panel with a starry-sky effect, reportedly created through a specialized manufacturing process. This design approach positions the Magic V Flip 2 as not just a tech product, but also a statement piece.

Leaked specifications point to a 6.8-inch LTPO main display paired with a 4-inch LTPO cover screen, both supporting high refresh rates. Power is expected to come from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, built on TSMC’s 4nm process—the same processor found in performance-focused devices.

Battery capacity could be one of the phone’s standout features. At a rumored 5,500mAh, the Magic V Flip 2 would offer one of the largest batteries yet in a small foldable, supported by 80W wired charging. Design refinements may also make it lighter and thinner than its predecessor, with early figures suggesting a weight of around 190 grams and a thickness of under 7mm when unfolded.

In China, the original Magic V Flip launched at 4,999 yuan (roughly $700), and the second-generation model is expected to follow a similar pricing strategy. Between its fashion-forward aesthetic and upgraded hardware, the Magic V Flip 2 is shaping up to be one of the more distinctive compact foldables to arrive in 2025.
