HMD Global has recently launched the HMD Arc, a smartphone designed for those seeking a balance of affordability and essential features. While pricing and availability details are still under wraps, the phone’s specifications suggest a focus on practicality.

The HMD Arc sports a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by a Unisoc 9863A processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card. This hardware configuration, along with the Android 14 (Go edition) operating system, aims to deliver a smooth user experience for everyday tasks like browsing, social media, and casual gaming.

One of the key features of the HMD Arc is its substantial 5000mAh battery, which should provide ample power for a full day’s use. However, it’s worth noting that the 10W charging speed might be considered slower by some users.

In terms of imaging capabilities, the HMD Arc has a dual-camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 13MP main sensor and a secondary sensor. The front-facing camera is 5MP, suitable for selfies and video calls.

The HMD Arc also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and has an IP52/IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. HMD Global has committed to providing two years of security updates for the device, which is a notable feature in the budget smartphone segment.
