Fujifilm introduces the Instax Mini 41 adding style, auto exposure, and better selfies

Fujifilm has introduced the Instax Mini 41, a new instant camera designed to refresh its long-running line of compact film shooters. The new model replaces the Mini 40, which launched in 2021, and brings subtle design updates along with a few practical features that cater to fans of casual photography.

One of the main updates to the Mini 41 is automatic exposure, which takes the guesswork out of capturing a decent shot. Instead of tweaking settings, users can just press the shutter and let the camera decide the best balance between flash and shutter speed depending on ambient lighting. It’s aimed at making the shooting process simpler and more reliable, especially in unpredictable light.

Another small but useful addition is the new close-up mode with parallax correction. This helps users frame subjects more accurately when shooting from short distances—particularly helpful for selfies and tight indoor shots. The camera also features a textured, easy-to-hold body that should make it more comfortable to handle for quick, one-handed photos.

While Fujifilm hasn’t confirmed the price just yet, it’s expected to be close to the Mini 40’s $100 price point. Instax Mini film—sold separately—runs around $15 for a pack of 20 exposures.

The Instax Mini 41 is built for people who enjoy tangible, physical photos—whether it’s for creative expression, journaling, scrapbooking, or simply enjoying a break from digital screens. The instant-print format continues to appeal to those looking for something more tactile and nostalgic, and this new model doesn’t stray too far from what makes the Instax line popular.

Since its debut in 1998, the Instax series has seen its share of ups and downs. The rise of digital photography and smartphones once threatened its relevance, but a growing interest in analog gear helped spark a revival around 2012. Since then, Fujifilm has steadily expanded its Instax lineup with variations tailored to different tastes, and the Mini 41 continues that trend with an approachable, beginner-friendly camera that still embraces instant photography’s charm.

Set to arrive in stores by the end of the month, the Instax Mini 41 is a straightforward option for anyone looking to capture and share memories in real time—without relying on a screen.
