Edifier has introduced the FitBuds Turbo, a new pair of budget wireless earbuds aimed at consumers looking for premium audio features without a premium price tag. The earbuds have launched in China for 259 yuan (around $38), placing them in an increasingly competitive segment where brands are attempting to balance sound quality, battery life, and advanced software features at accessible prices.
The FitBuds Turbo follows a familiar design approach, using a lightweight short-stem form factor. Each earbud weighs 4.4 grams and carries an IP54 rating for resistance to dust and light water exposure, making them suitable for commuting, gym sessions, and general daily use. Edifier has also equipped the earbuds with antibacterial silicone ear tips, although the practical long-term benefits of such features are often difficult for consumers to independently verify.
Audio performance is driven by 10mm dynamic drivers using a composite PU and PEEK diaphragm. The earbuds support the LDAC codec and carry Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, features that have become increasingly common among affordable wireless earbuds as manufacturers compete on specifications traditionally reserved for more expensive models. While certifications and codec support can improve audio potential, actual listening quality still depends heavily on tuning and source material.
Noise cancellation is another key selling point. Edifier rates the active noise cancellation system at up to 49dB of noise reduction, a figure that suggests meaningful suppression of environmental sounds such as traffic, office chatter, or public transport noise. For calls, the earbuds employ a six-microphone setup combined with AI-assisted voice processing designed to separate speech from surrounding noise. As with most wireless earbuds, real-world performance will likely vary depending on environmental conditions.
Battery life remains an important consideration for buyers, and the FitBuds Turbo offers competitive numbers on paper. Users can expect up to nine hours of playback from the earbuds alone, with the charging case extending total usage to approximately 40 hours. USB-C fast charging is also included, with a 15-minute charge providing up to two hours of listening time.
Connectivity is handled through Bluetooth 6.0, alongside multipoint pairing support for simultaneous connections to two devices. A 45ms low-latency mode targets mobile gaming and video consumption, helping reduce delays between audio and on-screen action.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of the FitBuds Turbo is the growing emphasis on software features. Through Edifier’s companion app, users gain access to spatial audio, voice assistant integration, and real-time translation across 21 languages. These additions reflect a broader trend in the wireless earbuds market, where manufacturers increasingly rely on AI-powered tools and ecosystem features to differentiate products beyond hardware specifications alone.
