CMF appears to be preparing another pair of wireless earbuds, with the Nothing sub-brand publishing a teaser that offers an early glimpse at what could become the next addition to its increasingly crowded audio lineup.
The teaser does not reveal a product name, specifications, pricing or launch date. What it does show is what appears to be part of a stem-style earbud finished in white or silver, with an orange accent at the tip. That colour combination would hardly be surprising for CMF, which has regularly used bright orange details to give its products a recognisable visual identity.
Exactly where the mystery earbuds will sit in the range is less obvious. CMF launched the Buds Pro 2 in 2024, followed by the Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus in 2025. That makes names such as CMF Buds 3, Buds 3 Plus or Buds 3 Pro plausible, but there is currently no official confirmation that CMF will follow that naming structure.

The teaser arrives as CMF continues to broaden its product portfolio beyond smartphones. While phones helped establish the brand as Nothing’s more affordable hardware line, wireless audio has become an equally important part of its catalogue. That makes another set of earbuds a relatively predictable move, particularly in a segment where frequent updates are common and manufacturers can introduce new models without the longer development cycles associated with smartphones.
It also gives CMF plenty of competition. Budget and mid-range true wireless earbuds are now available from an enormous number of brands, making specifications such as active noise cancellation, battery life and codec support increasingly difficult to use as meaningful differentiators on their own. Design, software integration and aggressive pricing have consequently become just as important.
CMF has previously leaned into that approach by giving relatively inexpensive products distinctive styling and physical controls. Its Buds Pro 2 charging case, for example, incorporated the brand’s Smart Dial concept, showing that CMF is willing to experiment with interaction beyond the earbuds themselves.
Whether any similar hardware idea appears on this new model remains unknown. The teaser is too limited to establish whether CMF is preparing a direct successor to an existing pair or introducing another audio category altogether. There are also no confirmed details yet about active noise cancellation, drivers, battery performance, Bluetooth capabilities or charging.
That means there is little value in reading too much into the image for now. CMF has confirmed just enough to indicate that new audio hardware is on the way, while leaving most of the details for a later announcement.
With several CMF earbuds already competing at overlapping price points, the bigger question will not be whether the company can make another affordable pair. It will be whether the next model offers enough of a difference to justify adding yet another option to the range.
