Apple releases iOS 18.3.2 to address critical security vulnerability

Apple has released iOS 18.3.2 and iPadOS 18.3.2, an unscheduled update aimed at patching a security vulnerability and enhancing the overall security of iPhones and iPads. This update is available for iPhone XS and later models, as well as various iPad models.

The update addresses CVE-2025-24201, a security flaw that could allow malicious web content to bypass the Web Content sandbox. This sandbox is designed to prevent malicious websites from accessing sensitive data or harming the device’s system. Exploitation of this flaw could potentially lead to data theft, malware installation, or other harmful actions.

Apple has acknowledged reports of this vulnerability being exploited in targeted attacks against specific individuals on iOS versions prior to iOS 17.2. The company has implemented improved checks to prevent unauthorized actions.

Users are advised to install the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update on their devices.

In parallel, Apple has also released iOS 18.4 beta 3 for those participating in the iOS 18 beta program. This beta update includes bug fixes and performance improvements. One notable change is the renaming of a menu option in the Apple Wallet to “Preauthorized Payments.” This feature allows users to view and manage merchants authorized to charge their Apple Pay accounts for recurring payments.

Users enrolled in the iOS 18 beta program can install iOS 18.4 beta 3 through the Software Update section in the Settings app.
