Acer partners with Ingram Micro to expand in Saudi Arabia

Acer has partnered with Ingram Micro in Saudi Arabia to widen the reach of its commercial technology portfolio across the Kingdom. The two companies announced the partnership on 16 October, after formally signing the agreement in Riyadh on 30 September at an event attended by senior executives from both sides and commercial resellers from around the country.

The agreement is built around distribution and channel growth. Acer brings its range of business-focused products, and Ingram Micro brings its market presence and relationships with the resellers who supply most organisations in the country. Together, the companies plan to deepen engagement with those resellers and their customers, make Acer’s commercial products and solutions easier to obtain, and develop new business opportunities across Saudi Arabia.

Ingram Micro is one of the largest technology distributors in the world, and its local network connects hardware brands with the systems integrators and IT resellers that handle procurement for businesses, government entities and institutions. For Acer, whose commercial lineup globally includes the TravelMate laptop series and Veriton desktops, that network offers a direct route to a wider range of business customers than the company could reach on its own.

The partnership also fits a broader pattern. Organisations across Saudi Arabia are investing steadily in technology as part of the country’s wider digital transformation, and modern workplace hardware is a key part of that spending. Acer says strengthening its local commercial ecosystem will help it respond more closely to changing business requirements and give organisations equipment suited to how they work today.

Acer’s Middle East leadership has described Saudi Arabia as an important market with significant potential for its commercial business, and presented the Ingram Micro agreement as a key step in expanding the company’s presence there. The company’s regional sales team stressed the role of strong local partnerships in growing the business side of its operations, and Ingram Micro’s Saudi business unit described the deal as a way to bring Acer’s technology to more customers while creating new commercial opportunities for its reseller partners.

The signing ceremony, which brought resellers into the room alongside both companies’ leadership, shows where the partnership will be focused. Acer is investing in local relationships rather than relying on brand recognition alone. As Saudi organisations continue upgrading their technology, the partnership positions Acer to compete more strongly for a larger share of that business demand through a channel that already supplies much of the Kingdom’s IT.
