Samsung Galaxy Ring: a few things to know before you buy

Samsung’s Galaxy Ring, set to hit shelves on July 24th (no date for MENA yet), promises to be a game-changer in wearable technology. However, before you rush to purchase this innovative smart ring, Samsung has issued some official advice that you might want to consider.

The Galaxy Ring’s support page offers some valuable tips for maximizing its functionality and longevity. While some recommendations, like avoiding high-speed water sports and pressure washers, are obvious, others might surprise you.

For instance, did you know that magnets can interfere with the ring’s step-counting feature? So, it’s best to keep your magnets and the Galaxy Ring far apart. Additionally, Samsung advises removing the ring during weightlifting and other exercises involving machines to prevent potential hand injuries. It’s also recommended to avoid wearing other metal rings on the same or adjacent fingers.

Oura Ring, a competitor in the smart ring market, also advises removing the ring during activities with high friction, including weightlifting. Although they don’t specifically mention magnets, it’s worth noting the potential for interference.

Early impressions of the Galaxy Ring have been largely positive, with reviewers praising its impressive features and user-friendly design. However, more thorough testing is needed to fully evaluate its capabilities.

If you’re considering purchasing the Galaxy Ring, it’s highly recommended to review the support page for comprehensive information and guidance. This will ensure you get the most out of your new wearable and avoid any potential issues.

The Galaxy Ring is priced at $399.
