PUBG Mobile just added Lincoln cars, and it gets weird

PUBG Mobile is adding a rather different kind of American firepower to its garages, with Lincoln becoming the latest automotive brand to turn its real-world vehicles into collectible in-game rides.

The PUBG Mobile x Lincoln collaboration goes live on September 10 and runs until November 9, 2026, bringing two vehicles from very different periods of Lincoln’s history into the battle royale. Players will be able to drive digital versions of the historic Lincoln Model L alongside the much more contemporary Lincoln Navigator Black Label.

Four vehicle skins are being introduced across the two models. The Model L gets Vintage Black and Golden Age variants, while the Navigator Black Label arrives in Frosted Fig and Mystic Abyss finishes. It is an unusual pairing, effectively putting an early piece of Lincoln’s luxury-car history alongside the brand’s modern flagship SUV.

The Model L also gets one of the collaboration’s more noticeable visual features: a retractable convertible roof. Players who want to push the customisation further can equip premium-tier skins with accessory slots, including an old-school trunk and amber headlights for the Model L. The Navigator can instead be fitted with a roof cargo box and a Navigator plushie.

There is even a limited-time Lincoln parachute, because apparently arriving at a firefight in a century-old luxury automobile wasn’t quite conspicuous enough.

Beneath the novelty, the partnership fits neatly into PUBG Mobile’s long-running strategy of using recognisable brands and vehicles as collectible digital content. Cars are particularly well suited to these crossovers because vehicles already play a practical role in PUBG’s matches. Unlike a purely cosmetic character outfit, a branded car can become part of the moment-to-moment experience as squads move around the map — even if its luxury credentials become slightly less convincing after the first off-road shortcut.

For Lincoln, meanwhile, the collaboration puts the marque in front of a gaming audience that may have relatively little connection with its traditional luxury-car positioning. Using both the Model L and Navigator is also a deliberate way of spanning the company’s history rather than simply inserting its newest SUV into another game.

What hasn’t been detailed in the supplied announcement is how the four Lincoln vehicle skins will be obtained, how much any paid content will cost, or whether individual cosmetics will be available through direct purchases, draws or another unlock system. Those details will matter to players deciding whether this is a fun temporary addition or another potentially expensive collection to complete.

The PUBG Mobile x Lincoln event will remain available through November 9. For everyone else, there is still something inherently entertaining about seeing a luxury Lincoln thrown into a battle royale where pristine bodywork rarely survives the journey.
