When backwards compatibility made its way to the Xbox One back in November fans rejoiced as it didn’t let there existing Xbox 360 games fall into obscurity. However, there were some hurdles that couldn’t be overcome such as games that were spread over multiple disks. But at last, multi-disk games are now supported by Xbox One’s backward compatibility.

The first game that will be supported is Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut. As a result other premium games that required multiple disks to run, such as Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3 and other games with bonus material, may also get support.

“Yes, ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut’ was the first multi-disc Backward Compatible title added to the program. We know fans were asking for this feature and our engineers worked hard developing a solution to enable it so we could further expand the titles included in Xbox One Backward Compatibility. We’re continuing to listen to our fans on Xbox Feedback and work with our publishing partners to grow out library of Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles and will work to include more multi-disc games.”

– Microsoft spokesperson

Lawrence Hryb, who goes by the gametag “Major Nelson”, the director of programming for Xbox Live also confirmed the Microsoft’s quiet enabling of the feature via Reddit.
