It appears that what was previously reported about Twitter rolling out a “buy” feature is going to see the light very soon.
According to reports from Reuters, Twitter will soon be allowing users to transfer money to other users. France’s second largest bank, Groupe BPCE and twitter are sealing a deal to allow this transfer to happen. It is still unclear at the moment if this service will be limited to customers within France.
The payment system will be integrated with the bank’s S-Money service, which currently allows money transfers via text message.
It appears that twitter is joining the race for mobile payments and going head to head with Apple and Facebook.
Twitter is expected to announce the service later this week.
