Whether or not it is worth upgrading from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 15 Pro depends on your individual needs and preferences. Here is a comparison of the two phones to help you decide:

As you can see, the iPhone 15 Pro has a number of upgrades over the iPhone 14 Pro, including a new A17 Bionic chip, a larger main camera sensor with variable focal length, a titanium frame, and more storage options.

Upgrade to the latest iPhone 15 Pro series If the below matters to you:

Build

This is the first iPhone designed with aerospace-grade titanium that’s strong yet lightweight. The new design features contoured edges, and overall the phone gets lighter and a bit smaller in size. The iPhone 15 pro comes in at 146.6 × 70.6 × 8.25 mm (188 grams) vs the iPhone 14 Pro which stands at 147.46 × 71.45 × 7.85 mm (206 grams).

Performance

As you got used to it by now, Apple updates its chips every year on the Pro models, its most premium iPhone line. This year’s A17 Pro chip offers increased efficiency and performance all around specially with gaming, which something Apple stressed on a lot during the keynote.

Action Button

The Action Button performs a specific action when pressed, which replaces the mute switch on the iPhone 15 Pro. Options include toggling between Voice Memos, Camera, and run shortcuts created in the Shortcuts app.

USB-C charging

The iPhone 15 Pro is the first iPhones to come with a USB-C charging port. If you’re a person who likes to use the same set of cables across devices at home or on the go, then this is one of the main reasons to upgrade.

Camera

The camera systems on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max both pack the equivalent of seven pro lenses. The Main camera allows users to switch between three focal lengths — 24 mm, 28 mm, and 35 mm — and even choose one as a new default. In addition to 48MP ProRAW, the Main camera also supports 48MP HEIF images with 4x more resolution. iPhone 15 Pro features an expansive 3x Telephoto camera, and iPhone 15 Pro Max provides the longest optical zoom ever on iPhone: 5x at 120 mm. The new Telephoto camera on iPhone 15 Pro Max has a tetraprism design with a combined optical image stabilization and autofocus 3D sensor-shift module.

New colors

Of course we can’t ignore the new colors this year, the Pro series comes in:

  • Natural Titanium
  • Blue Titanium
  • White Titanium
  • Black Titanium
