You’d never imagine that people in Dubai would queue up for the iPhone 7 launch like people do in other countries. After all, you can pre-order and have it delivered right to your door, but I guess there’s a euphoria to be had in waiting for the official launch and then experiencing the exhilaration first hand.
It was a massive queue, with some folk even waiting in line from 10pm the night before! There’s definitely dedication and need to be one of the first to ever use the new iPhone. Can you imagine what the queue would be like for the 10 year anniversary?
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are available in silver, gold, rose gold and the new black finish in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models starting at AED 2599; the new jet black finish will be offered exclusively on the 128GB and 256GB models. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see the black or jet black in their Plus variants, and the jet black was completely non-existent at the store.
Along with the iPhone 7, the Apple Watch Series 2 also went on sale, and the ceramic one was there and looked kind of odd. The watch is available in aluminium gold, rose gold, silver and space grey; the stainless steel model in silver or space black. The new ceramic edition starts at AED 4999; Apple Watch Nike+ starts at AED 1499 and Apple Watch Hermès starts at AED 4599.
