WHOOP, the wearable company best known for its athlete-focused health tracking platform, has unveiled two new devices—WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG—alongside a redesigned user experience and a new tiered membership model. The release marks a significant expansion of WHOOP’s strategy, shifting its focus from fitness optimization to broader personal health and longevity tracking.
The new wearables arrive in a more compact design, promising up to 14 days of battery life and housing upgraded sensors capable of gathering more detailed physiological data. WHOOP MG, in particular, introduces medical-grade ECG capabilities, a feature that allows users to perform heart screenings directly from the wrist.
At a time when healthcare systems face rising costs and mounting inefficiencies, WHOOP is positioning its platform as a more proactive tool for daily health management. Rather than focusing solely on fitness metrics, the company is introducing features it says are designed to track long-term health trends and give users more control over their well-being.

New Health Features and Metrics
Among the most notable additions is Healthspan with WHOOP Age, a feature that uses nine physiological metrics to estimate a user’s biological age and track the pace at which they are aging. Developed in collaboration with the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, the tool is part of WHOOP’s broader push to offer deeper insights beyond surface-level fitness data.
WHOOP MG introduces an FDA-cleared ECG screener, capable of detecting irregular heart rhythms and signs of atrial fibrillation. A separate Blood Pressure Insights feature provides estimated systolic and diastolic readings, using proprietary algorithms rather than direct measurements. Other new capabilities include:
- Women’s Hormonal Insights, offering personalized feedback for menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and perimenopause.
- A revamped Sleep Score for improved sleep quality analysis.
- WHOOP Advanced Labs, an upcoming feature that will integrate third-party blood test data into the WHOOP app.
- VO₂ Max and muscular strain tracking, plus support for over 145 activity types.

New Hardware and Extended Battery Life
Both WHOOP 5.0 and MG are seven percent smaller than previous models and are equipped with sensors capable of capturing data 26 times per second. WHOOP claims that its newly optimized processor is ten times more power-efficient, allowing for extended battery performance without sacrificing accuracy.
The new Wireless PowerPack accessory enables up to a month of battery life when used in conjunction with the 5.0 or MG models. WHOOP also continues to emphasize its AnyWear™ technology, which supports wear across various body locations using specialized garments.
Aesthetically, the company is expanding its accessory offerings, including the LeatherLuxe collection, crafted from Italian leather for those seeking a more premium look.
Membership Model and Pricing
In a departure from previous one-size-fits-all pricing, WHOOP is now offering three membership tiers:
- WHOOP One – $199/year: Basic fitness and recovery insights.
- WHOOP Peak – $239/year: Expanded health and performance features.
- WHOOP Life – $359/year: Full access to WHOOP’s most advanced tools, including ECG and blood pressure insights.
Global pricing varies by region, with the new devices available in markets including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.
