Threads is improving search functionality with new filters

GEEK DESK

Threads is enhancing its search capabilities with the addition of new filters, making it easier for users to find specific posts. This update, rolling out in the coming weeks, allows users to filter searches by date and profile, providing a more refined search experience.

To access these new filters, users can open the search tab in the Threads app and tap on the three-lines icon next to the search bar. This reveals options to filter posts by date (before or after a specified date) and by specific profiles.

These filters can be combined to further narrow down search results. For example, users can search for posts within a specific date range and from a particular profile, making it easier to locate specific content.

While these new filters represent a significant improvement to Threads’ search functionality, they are still not as comprehensive as those offered by Bluesky, which allows for filtering by time, language, username mentions, and more. Nonetheless, the addition of these filters enhances the user experience on Threads and adds a layer of competition to the social media landscape.
