Saudi Arabia’s appetite for smart home security solutions is rising sharply, with new research indicating that a vast majority of residents now view smart cameras as an essential part of their daily lives. According to a recent consumer insight study, 91% of Saudi respondents say they feel more comfortable having a monitoring camera at home, underscoring a nationwide shift toward smarter, tech-driven security systems.
This growing demand reflects a broader trend in the Kingdom’s home technology market, where convenience, safety, and real-time awareness are becoming key expectations. The same research shows that 84% of Saudi residents are either considering or planning to invest in upgraded smart camera systems, citing improved video quality, user-friendly installation, and enhanced peace of mind as their top motivators.
More than just a tool for deterring break-ins, smart security devices are being integrated into everyday routines. Popular use cases include monitoring children, keeping track of valuables, and interacting with delivery drivers remotely—all of which highlight the expanding role of connected technology in family life and property management.
As adoption grows, IP-based monitoring systems are gaining traction for their advanced capabilities. Features such as Video Preview Alerts, Continuous and Extended Live View, and two-way communication via Doorbell Calls are increasingly seen as must-haves. These tools allow users to monitor outdoor activity in real-time, check in on pets or children, and speak directly to visitors from anywhere—adding both functionality and a greater sense of control.
“Our consumer insights highlight a growing demand for reliable, high-quality home security solutions in Saudi Arabia,” said Mohammad Meraj Hoda, Vice President of Business Development – MEA at Ring. “At Ring, we are committed to delivering smart, easy-to-use monitoring features that help residents stay connected to their homes and loved ones—wherever they are.”
Further reinforcing this shift, 87% of survey participants believe smart cameras are essential to enhancing their properties. With smart home adoption gaining pace across the Kingdom, ease of integration and intuitive functionality are key. Brands like Ring are responding by offering high-definition cameras, mobile-friendly apps, and customizable alerts that align with modern Saudi households’ needs and expectations.
As smart living becomes more normalized in Saudi Arabia, the smart security segment is quickly evolving from a luxury to a baseline requirement for homeowners and renters alike. The combination of accessible technology, practical utility, and growing consumer trust suggests that smart monitoring will continue to be a cornerstone of domestic life in the Kingdom for years to come.
