Samsung has once again claimed the top spot in the global gaming monitor market, holding the number one position for the sixth year in a row. According to IDC data, the company captured a 21.0% share of global revenue in 2024. Samsung also led the OLED monitor segment, reaching a 34.6% share just two years after entering that category.
The growth is largely driven by Samsung’s expanding Odyssey gaming monitor range, which includes several models aimed at different segments of the gaming community. These monitors focus on high refresh rates, low response times, and advanced display technology — all key features for competitive and casual gamers alike.
Among the flagship offerings is the Odyssey 3D (G90XF), a 27-inch monitor delivering glasses-free 3D visuals using eye-tracking and lenticular lens tech. It includes a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms GTG response time, and seamless 2D-to-3D video conversion via Reality Hub.
Samsung’s OLED lineup also plays a major role in its market dominance. The Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) comes in 27-inch and 32-inch options, both featuring 4K resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and QD-OLED panels that deliver strong color accuracy and ultra-low latency (0.03ms GTG). This model also includes burn-in protection via OLED Safeguard+.
Coming later in 2025 is the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF), a QHD 27-inch monitor offering an impressive 500Hz refresh rate and the same lightning-fast 0.03ms response time. This model is aimed at the competitive gaming crowd looking for extreme speed and responsiveness.
All three monitors are NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, helping reduce screen tearing and input lag for smoother gameplay. Samsung’s Quantum Dot OLED tech remains central to its monitor lineup, enhancing contrast, brightness, and color precision across all models.
While the Odyssey 3D and OLED G8 are already available worldwide, the OLED G6 is expected to hit global markets in the second half of 2025. With a growing portfolio and continued focus on performance-driven features, Samsung is maintaining its position at the forefront of the gaming monitor space.
