Samsung Gulf Electronics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai International Academy (DIA) in Emirates Hills, officially designating it as the UAE’s first Samsung Certified School. The partnership marks a regional milestone in Samsung’s broader education initiative, which aims to integrate advanced technology and AI tools into learning environments while fostering future-ready skills among students and educators.

Under the agreement, DIA will introduce Samsung devices and AI-enabled applications into classroom activities, creating digitally enhanced learning spaces that emphasize creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Twenty DIA teachers will receive Samsung Certified Educator credentials following specialized training designed to help them embed AI tools and digital resources directly into their teaching practices.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031, which prioritizes developing responsible AI use across education and industry. Through the program, students will engage with Samsung’s AI-powered suite, including tools such as Math Solver, Note Assist, Browser Assist, and Sketch to Image. These will be complemented by hardware features like the S Pen and DeX, allowing students to move seamlessly between creative and analytical tasks.

A new Samsung AI Lab will also be established at DIA to support hands-on learning in areas such as coding, virtual and augmented reality, and design innovation. The lab will serve as a space for cross-disciplinary projects that combine science, technology, and the arts. Over 200 students will use Galaxy Tabs as their primary learning devices, and at least ten student-led innovation projects are planned for the program’s first phase.

Samsung Gulf Electronics President DooHee Lee said the initiative represents the company’s commitment to equipping young people with the tools and mindset needed to thrive in a digital-first world. “Education is the foundation of innovation,” Lee said. “Through the Samsung Certified Schools program, we aim to empower educators and students to explore new possibilities and contribute to the UAE’s long-term AI vision.”

Poonam Bhojani, CEO of Innoventures Education, which operates DIA, described the partnership as a step toward blending academic excellence with technological advancement. “By combining Samsung’s expertise with our educational vision, we can build an environment where innovation and purposeful learning go hand in hand,” she said.

The Samsung Certified Schools program recognizes institutions that demonstrate leadership in digital learning and innovation. By certifying DIA, Samsung is laying the groundwork for a broader network of schools across the UAE and beyond—each equipped to meet global standards in digital education while contributing to national goals in AI adoption and digital transformation.
