realme 9 Pro+ — first mid-range smartphone equipped with Sony IMX766 OIS camera to be launched on 16th Feb

realme officially announced that its realme 9 Pro Series would launch on 16th Feb at 8 am UTC. realme 9 Pro+ is the first smartphone in the mid-range to feature the Sony IMX766 OIS Camera.

To present exciting early access to the realme 9 Pro+ camera system – Sony IMX766 OIS Camera – realme offered a 24-hour online Camera Lab experience on 7th Feb.

The excellent Sony IMX766 image sensor, one of the sensors with outstanding performance on the 2021 flagship smartphone, has a super large 1/1.56″ sensor size and large pixel area. Not only that, the OIS lens provides the users with extraordinary image quality.

Together with HypeBeast, realme unveiled the appearance of realme 9 Pro Series with a set of lifestyle shots. Inspired by sunrise, realme once again shows its leading design DNA with the unique Light Shift Design with its realme 9 Pro Series.

The grace color – Sunrise Blue features the Light Shift Design, which shows the beautiful effect by sun. Under normal sunlight or UV exposure, the back of the device turns into red from blue in 3 seconds. With the addition of OCA organic photochromic materials, it allows the rear cover to change the color when it is illuminated by ultraviolet rays.

It’s never easy to achieve this sunrise effect on a smartphone. It took over 200 attempts to successively vanquish difficult problems like devising a way to ‘alter’ the molecular structure to make the material change color and fade more rapidly, as well as repeatedly adjusting the concentration in order to attain a balance between the result and the thickness of the color changing layer.

realme engineers creatively added an organic composite layer to the photochromatic layer and glass, which not only guarantees viscosity, but also increases the color rendering rate by 40%.

What’s more, paired with the new sensor will be a new processor — MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G. Its advanced 6nm process brings better performance. The CPU main core frequency is increased from 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz, increasing 4% in the single-core performance. The GPU is still Mali-G68 MC4, which overclocks the GPU frequency, and improves gaming performance by 9%. Users can photograph 35% more detail versus previous generation Dimensity chips.

Compared to Snapdragon 695 5G, which is installed in the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Dimensity 920 5G triumphs in almost every aspect, from CPU performance to gaming performance and Antutu score. In the AnTuTu test, realme 9 Pro + 5G scores 501,281. in GeekBench test, Dimensity 920 5G leads by 44% in single-core score; and 51% in multi-core score.

The realme 9 Pro series, the latest masterpiece of the realme Hero product line, will bring many new and disruptive experiences to the mid-range.
