Nothing launches CMF Buds 2: affordable earbuds with ANC and long battery life

Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, has officially introduced the Buds 2, a new set of affordable earbuds designed for those looking for a lower-priced option without giving up key features. Priced at $59, the CMF Buds 2 are only slightly cheaper than the CMF Buds Pro 2, which are currently available at discounted rates across many U.S. retailers. Depending on where you live, opting for the Pro model might offer better value.

Available in Dark Grey, Light Green, and Orange, the CMF Buds 2 won’t begin shipping until at least April 22. However, they come equipped with a solid feature list aimed at enhancing the listening experience. Users can expect support for Spatial Audio Effect, which helps create a more immersive soundstage. Under the hood, the earbuds are fitted with an 11mm PMI driver enhanced by Dirac Opteo tuning, 48 dB Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation with Environmental Adaptive tech, and six high-definition microphones powered by Clear Voice Technology 3.0. They also support dual device connection, making it easier to switch between devices.

Battery life is another highlight. Nothing claims up to 13.5 hours of playback on a single charge, stretching to 55 hours when using the case. A quick 10-minute charge is said to deliver around 7.5 hours of playback time, making them a practical option for those often on the go.

Durability is covered as well, with an IP55 rating for resistance against dust, sweat, and water. This makes the CMF Buds 2 a decent choice for both workouts and unpredictable weather.

A notable addition to these earbuds is the integration of ChatGPT, enabling smarter voice interactions directly through the device. Users can also access the Nothing X app to tweak sound profiles, manage ANC levels, adjust Ultra Bass settings, and activate Low Lag Mode for gaming.

While the CMF Buds 2 are positioned as an entry-level product, the features they offer suggest they can hold their own in a competitive market of affordable wireless earbuds.
