Sony continues to broaden its Inzone gaming peripherals with the addition of the H6 Air open-back wired headset, alongside Fnatic-branded versions of existing mouse and mousepad models and a new Glass Purple color for the Inzone Buds wireless earbuds. Released in the Middle East market during spring 2026, these updates reflect Sony’s ongoing attempt to blend elements of professional audio monitoring with everyday gaming needs, though the results remain incremental rather than transformative.
The Inzone H6 Air stands out as the lightest headset in Sony’s current gaming range at 199 grams without the detachable microphone and cable. Constructed with premium aluminum earcups and an open-back acoustic design, it allows sound to pass freely through the housing rather than trapping it inside. This approach reduces internal reflections and aims to create a wider, more accurate sound field that mirrors the intentions of game audio creators. The custom driver units borrow technology from Sony’s MDR-MV1 open-back studio monitor headphones, incorporating integrated back ducts that deliver deeper yet controlled bass while maintaining clear separation between mid and low frequencies. In practice, the headset performs best with detailed, atmospheric titles where spatial cues and subtle sound layering matter more than heavy bass impact or complete noise isolation.

Comfort receives clear attention. The H6 Air adopts the same spring-hinge headband mechanism found on the Inzone H9 II, keeping the overall profile compact without sacrificing stability during extended wear. An adjustable cardioid boom microphone, mounted on a flexible arm that holds its position once set, focuses on the user’s voice and helps suppress side noise for clearer communication in voice chat. Connectivity options include a standard 3.5mm jack for direct plug-and-play on consoles or PC, while the included USB-C audio box unlocks virtual 7.1-channel surround sound and Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming when paired with the Inzone Hub software on Windows. A dedicated “RPG/Adventure” equalizer profile, developed in collaboration with sound designers from PlayStation Studios, applies optimized processing for narrative-driven games, attempting to recreate a studio-like listening environment.

Users should note the inherent trade-offs of any open-back design. Ambient room noise can bleed in, and some audio leakage occurs outward, making the H6 Air less suitable for loud environments or shared living spaces compared with closed-back alternatives. The wired nature also limits mobility, positioning it as a stationary desk setup choice rather than a versatile all-rounder.
On the accessory side, Sony has introduced Fnatic editions of the Inzone Mouse-A, Inzone Mat-F, and Inzone Mat-D. These variants draw inspiration from the esports organization’s signature orange color scheme. The Inzone Mouse-A Fnatic edition features the same core sensor and button layout as the standard model but with orange accents that echo Fnatic’s branding. The Inzone Mat-F Fnatic edition carries a design nod to the organization’s Valorant team, while the Inzone Mat-D offers a black-to-orange gradient finish. Both mousepads maintain their original surface textures optimized for smooth tracking and durability. These limited editions build on Sony’s existing partnership with Fnatic, incorporating feedback from competitive players, yet they introduce no functional hardware changes beyond aesthetics.

Finally, the Inzone Buds gain a translucent Glass Purple variant. The truly wireless noise-canceling earbuds retain all previous specifications, including active noise cancellation, low-latency gaming mode, and battery life, now simply offered in a third color choice alongside black and white. The addition caters to users who prefer subtle personalization without altering performance.

In the competitive gaming audio landscape, open-back headsets occupy a specialized niche valued by those prioritizing soundstage accuracy and breathability over passive isolation. Sony’s H6 Air applies studio heritage to this format but stops short of wireless convenience or groundbreaking technical leaps. The Fnatic accessories and new earbud color expand visual options within an already established lineup, appealing mainly to brand loyalists or players seeking coordinated desk aesthetics. Availability for the Inzone H6 Air begins in selected Middle East countries from May 2026, with the Fnatic editions and Glass Purple Inzone Buds following in June 2026.
