Netflix gives older iPhones and iPads the boot

Netflix is set to raise the bar for its iOS users. The streaming giant will soon require users to have at least iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 to access the latest Netflix app updates, features, and bug fixes. This move will primarily impact users of older devices like the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the first-generation iPad Pro, which are not compatible with the latest operating systems.

While owners of these devices can continue using the current version of the Netflix app for now, they will eventually miss out on future enhancements and crucial security updates. However, Netflix remains accessible through web browsers on these devices.

This change underscores the ongoing push for technological advancement and the challenges faced by users of older devices. While it might disappoint some, it also highlights Netflix’s commitment to providing the best possible streaming experience on the latest platforms.

So, if you’re still holding onto one of these older models, it might be time to consider an upgrade if you want to stay on top of the latest Netflix features. But fret not, your favorite shows and movies will still be accessible via your web browser.
