Honor has officially announced that its upcoming Honor 400 series will debut on May 22, offering a first glimpse at what appears to be a bold design shift for the company’s mid-range smartphone lineup.
A teaser video released by Honor confirms that the new series will feature a noticeably redesigned camera module, departing from the oval layout used in the Honor 200 series. Instead, the rear camera setup bears resemblance to the rectangular housing seen in the Magic 6 Pro, though with a distinct arrangement that maintains some of the brand’s visual identity.
The company is also emphasizing camera capabilities, at least on the higher-end model. According to the teaser, the Honor 400 Pro will feature a 200MP AI-powered main sensor, suggesting that computational photography and high-resolution imaging will be central to the device’s appeal.
Hardware details are still largely unofficial, but recent leaks offer some insight. The base model is expected to come with dual rear cameras, flat edges, and a smaller display, while the Pro version reportedly includes three rear sensors, a curved frame, and a larger 6.7-inch screen. Under the hood, rumors point to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 powering the standard model, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3—a flagship-class chip from 2024—reserved for the Pro.
Notably absent from both models, based on early looks, is the dedicated camera-control button featured in the Honor 400 Lite, which launched earlier this year.
With design and imaging upgrades front and center, the Honor 400 series looks to position itself as a more refined and performance-capable option in the competitive mid-range space. Whether the internal specs and software support will match the polished exterior remains to be seen, but more should be revealed when the devices make their official debut later this month.
