Apple Music in collaboration with Brij Ent is today launching Tent Sessions, a series of unplugged sessions spotlighting emerging Saudi talent. Drawing inspiration from the cultural and social history of the Arabian Gulf, the series takes place in a ‘traditional backyard tent’ live in Riyadh. By showcasing musical talent from across Saudi Arabia, Tent Sessions gives artists the platform to cross over to other countries and breakthrough internationally.
Apple Music provides artists and songwriters at every level of their career with a global platform to reach new and existing audiences. One such artist, Majeed Alzayer, also known as “Jeed” says “Tent Sessions is a beautiful initiative. Documenting our songs in ‘live format’ has always been missing in our region. It’s great to be standing alongside other fellow artists and presenting our work with Apple Music on a global level. It’s important to be heard and seen in different formats.”

Alzayer continues “Apple Music is the first platform to ever support my music career as I was coming up. I know that through initiatives such asTent Sessions, I can expect even more variety from the platform with curations from our region, and spotlighted content for individuals to tell their story.”
Abdul Rahman Hajaj, who’s song “Follow me into the Dark” appears on the series shares “I’m very proud to be a part of the Tent Sessions. It is a great platform for artists in the region to showcase what they can do on a global level.“
The series was brought to life in support of the Kingdom’s vision to modernize its economy and re-engineer its society and culture all while retaining traditional power structures. Yemen-raised and Saudi-based Sudanese artist Ziyad Al Zaki (Zii) says “Remembering what making music was like back in the early days in Saudi, and seeing what it’s like right now is something really huge. The country is evolving in every aspect and its vision has brought artists closer together, inspiring them to share this rich culture locally and and internationally.”
On this topic, Abdul Rahman Hajaj adds “In the past few years the music scene here has definitely evolved through a social and cultural shift in perceptive. Individuality and authenticity are being celebrated which allows for a more fruitful and colorful musical landscape.”
Tent Sessions also brings an immersive audio experience for listeners through Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos on Apple Music. This enables artists to mix music so the sound comes from all around and from above. By default, Apple Music automatically plays Dolby Atmos tracks on all AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 chip, as well as the built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
