Bentley unveils Continental GT Supersports in Dubai with limited global run

Bentley has chosen Dubai as the stage for the regional unveiling of its latest high-performance grand tourer, the Continental GT Supersports, reinforcing the Middle East’s role as a key market for limited-run luxury vehicles. The launch was hosted by Bentley Emirates at a private event in the city, positioning the model as a more driver-focused alternative within the broader Continental GT lineup.

The Continental GT Supersports is presented as a limited-production model, with global output capped at 500 units. Rather than introducing an entirely new platform, the car builds on the existing Continental GT architecture, but with a clear emphasis on weight reduction, sharper dynamics, and visual differentiation. Bentley’s approach here is evolutionary rather than radical, targeting buyers who want a more engaging driving experience without abandoning the comfort and craftsmanship traditionally associated with the nameplate.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, tuned to deliver stronger performance than standard Continental GT variants. Bentley has paired this with a rear-wheel-drive configuration, a notable departure from the all-wheel-drive setups commonly associated with the model line. The result is a car intended to feel more responsive and involving, particularly at higher speeds, while still remaining usable as a long-distance grand tourer.

Visually, the Supersports distinguishes itself through extensive use of carbon-fiber elements, bespoke aerodynamic components, and unique wheel and brake packages. These changes are not purely cosmetic; they are intended to reduce mass and improve cooling and stability under demanding driving conditions. Inside, the cabin maintains Bentley’s familiar focus on high-quality materials and customization, but with a slightly more restrained and performance-oriented tone compared to the brand’s more opulent offerings.

The decision to debut the car in Dubai reflects regional demand for exclusive, high-performance vehicles that sit at the intersection of luxury and sport. The UAE continues to be a strong market for bespoke specifications and limited editions, and events like this allow Bentley to engage directly with customers who value rarity as much as outright performance.

Alongside the physical unveiling, Bentley also tied the launch to a promotional short film showcasing the Supersports in dynamic driving scenarios. While the presentation leaned heavily on spectacle, the underlying message was clear: this model is intended to reposition the Continental GT, even if briefly, closer to the performance end of the spectrum.

The Continental GT Supersports does not attempt to redefine Bentley’s brand identity, nor does it aim to compete directly with lightweight supercars. Instead, it represents a targeted response to customers looking for a sharper, more focused interpretation of a familiar luxury coupe. For Bentley, the model serves as both a statement of engineering capability and a reminder that performance still has a place within its traditionally comfort-first portfolio.
