Samsung Electronics is celebrating the first anniversary of Samsung Food, its AI-powered food and recipe platform, with a host of new features and updates designed to enhance user experience and promote healthier eating habits.

Since its launch, Samsung Food has gained significant popularity, amassing over six million users and becoming an integral part of kitchen routines worldwide. The platform’s Recipe functions, Shopping List, and Meal Planner have been particularly well-received.

Now, Samsung is taking the platform to the next level with advanced features like Vision AI technology, which allows users to easily add items to their Food List by taking pictures with their smartphone. This technology will prove invaluable for users with Bespoke refrigerators equipped with internal cameras that recognize food items.

The premium subscription service, Samsung Food+, offers even more advantages. It includes the ability to automatically add purchased ingredients to your Food List, search for recipes based on your Food List, and receive alerts to help use items before their expiry dates.

Furthermore, Samsung Food+ introduces meal plans based on your Food List, promoting sustainable food practices by prioritizing ingredients nearing their use-by dates. The new “Search with Your Food List” feature suggests recipes using items you already have, while recipe recommendations are also offered based on your Food List.

Samsung Food is also committed to helping users achieve their health and wellness goals. It now provides nutrition-focused meal plans that track calorie intake and offer “Tailored for You” plans with weekly recipe and snack recommendations based on your nutritional needs and preferences. The system monitors macronutrient intake within daily meal plans and allows for customizable calorie and macronutrient targets.

With over 160,000 recipes available in eight languages across 104 countries, Samsung Food is continually evolving to become an even more personalized and intuitive tool for food enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals alike.
