Through green disco lights at Dubai’s Atlantis, HTC unveiled its new flagship phone, the HTC One M8, with the tagline “The Best Just Got Better”. And while we will judge the truth to that statement when we get our hands on the review unit, I must admit that my hands-on experience with the phone at the event was delightful.
The phone feels posh and much more refined than the previous model from a hardware and software perspective. The metallic unibody is solid and light and never feels odd in the hand. The software underwent some changes as well, taking on the flat look that is the trend today while maintaining the Sense elegance. It’s also a bit more colourful too, adding pastel blue and red to its otherwise black and green skin. The dotted matrix cover is also nifty, serving the purpose of a low-energy heads-up display as well as protective casing.
HTC’s One M8 will be launching in the UAE on the 3rd of April at night (officially 4th of April) at a retail price of AED 2750. The device will be rolling out to the rest of MENA during the following two weeks.
In the meantime, HTC has claimed the title of releasing the best phone for selfies … so I will leave you with a (photo of a) selfie to judge:
