Apple’s iOS 10 Is Causing Issues For Some Users

iOS 10

Samsung had blown their chance of a strong third quarter with a flagship smartphone that would literally blow up and Apple never looked stronger. The iPhone 7 was revealed, drawing praise for its inability to blow up, and criticism for its lack of a headphone jack. In a calculated bid to smooth the waters, Apple then released iOS 10, its latest iteration of the mobile operating system, but alas, things haven’t gone swimmingly well for quite a few users.

Wow. iPad pro update failed. I don't even know if I have iTunes or a free USB port!

According to widespread reports across social media platforms, users who upgraded their iPhones and iPads to iOS 10 ran into a variety of installation problems, with the most banal being a failed update and the most severe allegedly bricking some devices. Apple put out this statement regarding the matter:

“We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability. The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers.”

Users who had their phones bricked had to connect it to a computer, open iTunes and then put their device in recovery mode by holding down the home and power buttons. Users would then be prompted to update or restore their phone, with ‘update” doing a fresh install. However, Apple have since patched the bug, allowing for everyone to safely install iOS 10.

This isn’t the first time Apple have had issues when it comes to update; The initial iOS 9.3.2 rollout bricked the company’s 9.7-inch iPad Pro, which led Apple to temporarily pull back the update.

iOS 10, which was revealed at Apple’s WWDC 2016, has a plethora of new features, with new updates to Messages, Siri being opened to developers to allow for more apps designed around the digital personal assistant and even the customary update to Apple Music.
