Gears of War, Shadow of Mordor producer Michael Forgey passes away from cancer

Michael Forgey — the awesome man who has helped shape the incredible Shadow of Mordor, Gears of War, Fable, and other fantastic games — has, unfortunately, passed away from glioblastoma, a rare form of cancer.

A YouCaring page was set up to help raise funds towards his treatment, and gamers were encouraged to use the #ForForgey hashtag to spread awareness. Unfortunately, the main tumour was inoperable, and he passed away on March 3rd.

“His last few days were peaceful with his family by his side … Mike was so touched by everyone’s support during his fight. His family wants to thank everyone for their kind words and support during this difficult time.”

We extend our condolences to his family. May he now be at peace.
