The Steam Winter sales are here

Dec 23

We can start our celebrations early this December, the Steam Winter sales have begun!

Much like the Steam Summer sales, PC gamers across the globes have trotted off to their nearest ATM to promptly empty it off cash and thus begin spending all of their hard earned savings on games.

As was the case with a few of this year’s promotions, there are no daily deals anymore. This means the prices you see for any game will remain that way for the duration of the sale, no flash sales etc. For previous Winter sales, each day would result in different games having the prices slashed, keeping gamers on their toes and their credit cards in hand.

Instead, now the features what Steam calls “highlighted deals,” which are just as the name suggests, a random selection of deals that change everyday, but don’t get extra discounts. For today’s highlighted deals is The Witcher Franchise which you can nab for AED 100 in total. If you’re not sure about it, check out our Witcher 3: Wild Hunt review! Also being highlighted for today is the Tropic franchise, which is a city builder real-time strategy game.

Below that, you will find a personal queue of games Valve thinks you’ll like. If you click that and continue browsing the games it throws at you, you get a trading card, which can then be turned into gems, sold or crafted. You can get up to three trading cards a day! It’s a lot less convoluted than previous years, which involved mini-games; yes there are no carpal tunnel syndrome causing mini games anymore.

The Steam Winter sales will finish on the 4th of January.

You can check out the deals on Steam here.
