Android Family Hub is coming to Settings, but which phones?

Google is finally giving Android families one place to manage everything. The company’s November 2026 Google System Services release notes confirm a new Android Family Hub, a dedicated section inside the Settings app that collects the family management tools Android users have been hunting for across several apps and web pages for years.

The feature arrives with Google Play services version 26.43. The official note is short and says almost nothing about what the hub contains. Recent sightings on Pixel 11 phones fill in most of the picture, though.

On those devices, a Family entry appears at the very top of Settings. Tapping it opens a page that lists the members of a Google family group and the subscriptions they share, including Google One storage, Google AI plans and YouTube Premium. It also shows Calendar events involving more than one family member, the current shared locations of family members, and feature suggestions aimed at whoever manages the group.

Anyone who has run a family group on Android will see why this matters. Until now, the job has meant juggling the separate Family Link app, the Play Store and assorted Google account pages. Each handled one part of the setup, and none showed the whole thing. Parents trying to check who has access to what often had to know where to look before they could even start.

Apple solved this long ago. Family Sharing sits near the top of iOS Settings, one tap from the main screen. Google’s version follows the same idea closely, down to its placement, and there’s no shame in that. Some ideas are simply correct, and putting household controls where people actually look for them is one of them.

The bigger unknown is reach. Google hasn’t said which phones will get the Family Hub, and early sightings were limited to the Pixel 11. Because the feature ships through Google Play services rather than a Pixel system update, it could plausibly appear on a much wider range of Android devices. That would make it far more useful than a Pixel exclusive, but Google hasn’t confirmed it. Samsung, Xiaomi and other manufacturers have their own heavily customised Settings apps, so it’s also unclear how cleanly a Google-provided Family section would fit into them.

Patience will help too. Play services updates roll out gradually, so the hub could take weeks to appear even on supported phones. If it does land widely, Android will have closed one of the more obvious gaps in its family features, and parents can stop bouncing between apps.
