HONOR X9e Pro packs an 11,000mAh battery that lasts three days

HONOR wants its first “Pro” phone in the X Series to win on endurance, and on paper the HONOR X9e Pro does. The phone, announced in Dubai ahead of its regional launch, carries an 11,000mAh battery, rated 3-metre drop protection, IP69K water resistance and a display HONOR rates at up to 10,000 nits. Pricing and a release date haven’t been announced, so the reveal reads more like a spec sheet than a buying decision.

The X Series has built its reputation on toughness instead of flagship polish, and the Pro model leans further into that. HONOR says a redesigned 360-degree shock-absorbing frame protects the phone in falls of up to 3 metres. SGS has given it a five-star rating for drops in harsh conditions, including awkward low-angle impacts. Beyond the IP69K rating, the company says the phone can sit 10 metres underwater, survive hot-water splashes at 85°C and take photos underwater. These are lab conditions, though, and real-world drop survival depends a lot on how the phone lands.

The battery is the headline number. An 11,000mAh cell would have been unthinkable in a mainstream phone a few years ago. Higher-density cells have since pushed Chinese brands into a capacity race, and this puts HONOR near the top of it. The company claims up to three days of mixed use and says it tested the battery at 50°C running navigation, video streaming and calls, which is a relevant test for Gulf summers. Charging is 80W wired, and 27W reverse wired charging lets the phone top up other devices. HONOR also cites a six-year battery durability design but hasn’t said what capacity retention that actually means.

The 6.8-inch 1.5K 120Hz panel is where the 10,000-nit figure comes from. Peak brightness numbers like this usually apply to small screen areas for short bursts, so sustained outdoor readability matters more than the headline. At the other end, a hardware-level 1-nit mode targets night use, and the touchscreen is designed to work with wet or gloved hands.

The camera is a 108MP main sensor with optical and electronic stabilisation, plus a colour correction mode for underwater shots. On the software side, Google Gemini handles assistant duties. HONOR adds its own touches, including AI FreeGrip, which detects which hand you’re holding the phone with and moves interface elements to that side.

The phone comes in Deep Purple, Reddish Brown, Dawn Gold and Midnight Black.
