BREDx Abu Dhabi lineup drops, and the cheaper ticket skips the headliners

Abu Dhabi’s BRED festival doesn’t return in full until April 2027, but its organisers aren’t leaving the gap empty. BREDx, a limited-edition two-day spin-off set for November 13 and 14 at Etihad Live on Yas Island, has now rounded out its music bill with three regional acts joining previously announced headliners Bryson Tiller and Central Cee.

How those acts are spread across the weekend says a lot about the event’s priorities. Friday belongs entirely to regional talent: Syrian rapper and producer Bu Kolthoum, who threads rap through traditional Arabic forms such as Tarab, Zajal and Ataaba, and Jordanian-Palestinian singer Zaid Khaled, whose intimate Arabic pop leans on electronic production. Saturday is the marquee night, with Tiller and Central Cee on the Main Stage and rising Egyptian pop artist Nasser holding down the AMP Stage.

The ticketing reflects that split. A Friday Pass costs AED 195 and covers the regional performances, the opening party and the wider festival programme, but not the headliners. Saturday general admission is AED 295, while Golden Circle access to Tiller and Central Cee runs AED 595. In practice, Friday becomes a genuine test of whether Arabic-language artists and a culture-heavy programme can draw a crowd without a global name attached, something regional promoters have been edging towards for years.

Music is only part of the pitch. BREDx is billed as a “neo-culture” event mixing fashion, food, sport and art, and the supporting cast is extensive. A concept store will host more than 30 local and regional brands, each producing a festival-exclusive item, with Bad Berry Club launching two Y2K-styled eyewear lines and labels like India’s Subko and Egypt’s UNTY making their Abu Dhabi debuts. Food comes largely from homegrown operators, including a Marmellata and Barbassi slice shop, Barjis’s first pop-up in the capital, Fowli’s whole-fried chicken debut and Ugly Noodles’ first BBQ concept.

Sport gets a slot too, with the Red Bull Half Court 3on3 national finals, which the organisers say is the first time the streetball competition has been staged inside a music and culture festival. There’s also Forward, Forward, Forward, a limited photography book with Middle East Archive featuring MENA-heritage photographers, sold only on site and accompanied by an exhibition.

The bigger question is what BREDx really is. Producer Brag frames it as a one-off, but a smaller, regionally anchored format with a couple of global draws looks a lot like a trial run. If Friday sells well, it may shape what BRED Abu Dhabi looks like when it returns next spring.
