Samsung’s new TVs want to replace your art, monitor and tablet

Samsung has started selling its 2026 TV range in the UAE, and the most interesting thing about it isn’t a single flagship. It’s how widely the company is spreading its bets: a new backlight technology at the top, a 98-inch art TV, and a 27-inch battery-powered screen on wheels that you carry from room to room.

The headline technology is Micro RGB, available in the R95H and R85H series in sizes from 55 to 115 inches. Most LED TVs use a white or blue backlight filtered through colour layers. Micro RGB uses tiny red, green and blue light sources with local dimming, which in theory gives more direct control over colour and brightness. Samsung claims the R95H covers 100 percent of the BT.2020 colour space, a target most consumer TVs fall well short of. That’s an ambitious number, and independent measurements will show how it holds up across real content. Micro RGB starts at AED 5,299, though Samsung hasn’t said which model or size that price buys.

The Frame now comes in 98 inches, its largest size yet, with an Amber Brown bezel included. Art Mode and the Samsung Art Store, with more than 5,000 works, remain the main reasons to buy it. The Frame Pro adds Neo QLED panels, Pantone-validated colour, glare reduction and Wireless One Connect to cut down on visible cables. Prices start at AED 4,799 for The Frame and AED 8,299 for the Pro.

The Movingstyle is the clearest departure from a normal TV, and the closest comparison is LG’s StanbyME, which created the rollable-screen category in 2021. It’s a 27-inch QHD touchscreen on a wheeled stand. It detaches for tabletop or handheld use, runs up to three hours on its battery, and tilts, swivels, rotates to portrait and adjusts in height. It has USB-C, HDMI, phone mirroring, Bixby voice control and two-content Multi-View. At AED 4,399, it costs almost as much as an entry-level Frame, so buyers are paying mostly for portability rather than screen size.

The whole 4K-and-above range gets Vision AI Companion, which includes AI-driven picture and sound adjustment, upscaling and a dedicated football mode. How much these features add beyond better automatic settings is still unclear.

For gamers, Samsung is leaning on its role as Activision’s display partner for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which supports HDR10+ Gaming. The S95H OLED offers 165Hz with VRR, and the Odyssey G9 monitor rounds out the gaming lineup.

The real test is pricing outside the entry-level models, and whether Micro RGB can make a convincing case against OLED once the larger sizes reach shelves.
