NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang spotted using Galaxy Z Fold8 on stage

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has been spotted using Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 during a live appearance at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles.

The device appeared unexpectedly when Huang received a phone call while on stage. He pulled the Fold8 from his pocket, unfolded it and switched the call to speakerphone in front of the audience.

It’s a small moment, but one that quickly attracted attention given Huang’s profile as one of the most recognisable executives in the technology industry.

This also isn’t the first time Huang has been seen carrying one of Samsung’s foldables. Earlier this year, he appeared with a Galaxy Z Fold7 during a visit to China. NVIDIA later confirmed that Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong had gifted him that device.

There’s currently no confirmation that the Galaxy Z Fold8 seen at the All-In Summit was also a gift, and neither company has explained how Huang obtained the newer model.

The sighting comes as NVIDIA and Samsung maintain a broader business relationship around AI hardware and semiconductors, including high-bandwidth memory. Huang and Lee have also met several times as the two companies explore areas of cooperation.

Of course, spotting an executive with a particular smartphone doesn’t tell us much about their wider device preferences, nor should it be treated as an endorsement. Huang may use multiple devices, and there’s no indication that his Fold8 appearance was anything more than him answering a call with the phone he happened to be carrying.

Still, it made for an unexpected bit of tech spotting during an event otherwise far removed from a smartphone launch.
