Huawei has launched the Watch GT 7 Series in the UAE, with its latest wearables putting a stronger emphasis on recovery tracking, preventative health awareness and battery life rather than simply adding more workout modes.
Starting at AED 949, the Huawei Watch GT 7 range is now available for pre-order through Huawei stores and selected UAE retailers. The lineup includes the Watch GT 7 Pro alongside 46mm and 41mm Watch GT 7 models, with battery life reaching a claimed 21 days under light usage on the Pro and 46mm versions. The smaller 41mm model is rated for up to 14 days.
One of the more useful additions is Physical Readiness, part of Huawei’s upgraded Health Insights platform. Using measurements including sleep quality, sleeping heart-rate variability, sleeping heart rate, stress and calories burned, the watch generates a daily readiness assessment ranging from Excellent to Needs Attention.

It’s a familiar direction for modern wearables, which increasingly attempt to turn large amounts of sensor data into a simple answer to a practical question: should you train hard today or recover? Huawei’s implementation also includes morning briefings and health analysis intended to make the collected data easier to interpret.
Health monitoring goes further through two opt-in research features. The Diabetes Risk Study uses vital-sign monitoring collected over three to 14 days to assess potential risk, while Watch GT 7 Pro owners can access a Coronary Heart Disease Risk Study after three to four days of continuous wear, subject to eligibility.
Huawei is developing the diabetes research with Dubai Health, while the coronary heart disease work is supported by the China-Saudi Arabia Joint Laboratory for Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases. Importantly, neither feature provides a medical diagnosis, and Huawei positions the assessments as health-awareness tools rather than substitutes for professional care.

Elsewhere, the watches can recognise 12 emotional states, provide guided breathing exercises, offer menstrual cycle predictions and share selected health information with family members through Huawei Health.
Fitness tracking covers more than 110 workout modes. A new AI-powered Padel Points app can recognise racket swings and measure swing speed, an interesting addition given padel’s popularity across the region. Huawei has also expanded skiing and cycling features.
The Watch GT 7 Pro uses a nano-tech ceramic bezel and titanium-alloy middle frame, while the wider range comes in multiple colours and strap configurations. Compatibility extends beyond Huawei phones to Android 9.0 or newer and iPhones running iOS 13.0 or later, although some functionality varies by platform and market.
For the GT 7 Series, the bigger question is whether Huawei can make increasingly complex health data genuinely useful. Longer battery life helps that argument: health and recovery tracking only works when the watch spends more time on the wrist than on its charger.
