Instagram has launched Boomerang on iOS and Android, a new standalone app designed to perform one simple task: It turns one-second burst of five photos into a video that plays over and over in a loop. Boomerangs are saved to your camera roll, and can be shared on Facebook, Instagram, twitter and others. No login is required to use the app.
Press a button and the app does the rest, Instagram said. Boomerang takes a burst of photos and stitches them together into a high-quality mini video that plays forward and backward. Shoot in portrait or landscape. Share it on Instagram. Boomerang automatically saves it to your camera roll.
