MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES takes the school formula in a more comedic direction. Its protagonist enters a magic academy despite having no magical ability, relying instead on physical strength. Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun similarly plays with the outsider-at-school premise, following a human teenager trying to survive in an academy populated by demons.
Mob Psycho 100 offers another variation. Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama is an ordinary middle-school student on the surface, but his powerful psychic abilities and difficulty expressing emotion give the series a more introspective angle. Crunchyroll currently lists Arabic and English dubbing for both Mob Psycho 100 and Jujutsu Kaisen, alongside Arabic and English subtitles.
Not every recommendation revolves around supernatural threats. Skip and Loafer follows Mitsumi as she adjusts to school life in Tokyo after moving from the countryside, while Horimiya focuses on the unexpected connection between two classmates whose private personalities differ from the versions they present at school. Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! approaches teenage relationships from another perspective, centring on characters dealing with romantic disappointment rather than guaranteed happy endings.
SPY x FAMILY stretches the school theme into espionage. The elite Eden Academy is central to Twilight’s undercover mission, even though much of the series’ appeal comes from the bizarre family he assembles around it. Classroom of the Elite heads in the opposite direction, turning academic life into a competitive system shaped by status, strategy and financial rewards.
The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch rounds out the selection with another magical academy story, following Spica Virgo as she tries to develop abilities she initially cannot use.
Arabic accessibility is a significant part of Crunchyroll’s pitch in the region. The service says its catalogue includes more than 1,300 titles with Arabic subtitles, alongside a growing number of Arabic-dubbed anime.
