CMF Headphone Pro to launch September 29 as Nothing’s first budget headphones

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is preparing to launch its first pair of budget-friendly over-ear headphones. The CMF Headphone Pro will debut on September 29, 2025, marking an expansion of the brand’s lineup beyond its smartwatches and accessories into more affordable audio gear.

The company teased the headphones in a short video shared on X (formerly Twitter), giving a brief look at the design. The model appears in CMF’s recognizable Blue and Orange color scheme, with one version showing an orange earcup paired with a blue headband. This detail, along with what looks like a detachable mechanism, suggests the possibility of replaceable ear cushions — similar to the customizable bezels featured on the CMF Watch 3 Pro.

The CMF Headphone Pro shares some design cues with Nothing’s earlier over-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone (1), but positions itself as a more accessible alternative. Visible hardware includes roller-style volume controls, a USB-C charging port, a power button, an LED indicator, and what may be a latch for swapping ear cushions. While full specifications have not yet been disclosed, the teaser suggests a mix of affordability and modularity aimed at broadening CMF’s appeal.

This launch arrives as Nothing continues to grow its ecosystem. Alongside the upcoming CMF headphones, the company is also set to unveil the Nothing Ear (3), with its debut scheduled for September 18. Meanwhile, Nothing’s smartphone lineup remains in focus, with the Phone (3) expected to feature prominently in Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sales event, where existing Phone (1) and Phone (2) owners will be eligible for discounts.

By bringing in a more budget-friendly pair of over-ear headphones, CMF is attempting to reach a wider audience without abandoning the design-centric identity that has become Nothing’s hallmark. The September 29 reveal will show whether the CMF Headphone Pro can balance affordability, style, and useful features in a crowded headphone market.
