Google has officially released “Gemini with personalization,” an experimental AI model designed to tailor responses using users’ Google Search history. This new feature is available immediately for Gemini and Gemini Advanced subscribers on the web, with a gradual rollout planned for mobile devices.

Currently accessible in over 45 languages across most global regions, excluding the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK, Personalization aims to provide more insightful and contextually relevant answers. By connecting with users’ Google apps and services, starting with Search, Gemini can analyze past searches to enhance its responses. Google plans to expand this capability to include Google Photos and YouTube in the coming months.

Users retain control over their data and can disconnect their search history from Gemini at any time. The AI will only utilize search history when its reasoning models determine it can provide a more helpful response. Google emphasizes that not all prompts and queries will trigger the use of search history.
